2020 BECE Starts Monday : GES, WAEC promise examination sanctity
The 2020 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) will start from Monday, September 14th 2020 to Friday, September 18th, 2020 at all designated centres throughout the country.
Examination leakages at both the BECE and WASSCE have reduced both examinations into questionable ventures with the recent being the just-ended WASSCE 2020 which was hit by examination malpractices including leakage of exams questions from the WAEC strongroom.

2020 BECE Starts Monday and the Ghana Education Service (GES) in its quest to ensure the threat to credible the 2020 BECE examination is curtailed has urged all candidates, across the country as well as Directors of schools and invigilators to ensure the examination is free from any form of unacceptable practices
The GES called on all stakeholders to desist from all forms of examination malpractice during the period. The BECE 2020 which starts on Monday will mark 30 years since the examination was first written in 1990.
2020 BECE Starts Monday examination hence the Management of GES in collaboration with WAEC has stated that it will ensure the sanctity of the examination at all times. It pledged to ensure that BECE candidates who engage in any form of malpractices are dealt with accordingly.
However, the WAEC has failed over the years to publicly make known what happened to its own staff who continue to leak examination questions with the leaking of WASSCE 2020 questions from the strong room of the examining body still hanging around its neck, it has to deal with its internal inefficiencies just as it would deal with students
“Management of GES in collaboration with WAEC will ensure the sanctity of examination at all times. All cases of reported examination malpractices will swiftly be investigated and dealt with decisively,” the GES stated.
