2021 BECE Briefing Highlights, Rules and Regulations for officers & candidates
The BECE for 2021 candidates is a week away. To ensure that all stakeholders know their duties as spelt out by WAEC, the examining body, we have put together these roles and rules in a simple form titled 2021 BECE Highlights: Briefing for supervisors, exam coordinators, candidates et al. This will help all interested parties to get the facts as shared by the examining body ahead of the examination.

The Supervisory Authorities of BECE are WAEC and Ghana Education Service (GES)
1. The date for the examination remains the same – Monday, 15th November and ends on Friday, 19th November 2021
2. The softcopy of the Timetable has already been circulated.
3. Supervisors, GES officials, and Candidates are required to observe all COVID-19 Policy Guidelines at the examination centres.
4. Two Subjects to be written daily:
Morning papers 9:00 am.
Afternoon papers 1:00 pm
5. Answer booklets containing supplementary and graph sheets are to be used for the following subjects
English Language
Mathematics
Integrated science
Ghanaian language
Social studies
Religious and Moral Education
There are no answer booklet for the following subjects:
ICT
French
BDT Options
Candidates are to answer questions in the spaces provided in the question papers
Candidates offering Pre-Technical Skills are required to write their answers on the drawing sheets.
6. Candidates are to be seated 30 minutes before the start of each paper.
7. Candidates are to use only index numbers generated for them during registration.
8. Use of calculators is not allowed for BECE.
9. Candidates are barred from wearing wristwatches in the examination hall/room.
10. Candidates are to note that possession of a mobile phone, pieces of paper with notes, blank sheets, and books in the examination hall/room is a punishable offence by the cancellation of results.
11. All candidates shall use blue ball pens for the examination.
12. Candidates who take papers they have not registered will not be graded.
13. Request for the following will not be entertained after releasing of results.
Addition of name
Arrangement of name
Change of date of birth
14. Remarking of scripts sixty (60) days after the release of the result will not be entertained.

16. Those who requested correction after the printing of objective answer sheets and Attendance/Mark sheets should ignore the existing errors since the final results would bear the corrections.

NB: Headteachers may come for a copy of the Timetable in the office.
