The Management of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) says it has identified and addressed a technological failure that led to the unfortunate mass leakage of the examiners contact details online last year.
WASSCE examiners contacts leakage and WAEC’ reaction to AEW report
Reacting to claims that nothing had been done about the 2020 leakage, WAEC said one person related to the breach has been arrested by the police and also investigations are still ongoing and will be concluded in due course.
“As a result of investigation conducted, one person has been arrested. We have also identified a technological failure which has been addressed to ensure the incident does not occur again,” it stated in a release copied to EducationWeb.
The non-profit-making organization (WAEC) on August 19, 2020, admitted the unfortunate circulation of the yet to be finalized version of the examiners’ list for the 2020 WASSCE for School candidates on various social media platforms.
