How to condition your mind ahead of WASSCE 2020 result release
The WASSCE 2020 results are yet to be released by WAEC, but the pressure is getting to students.
One of the most difficult periods in the life of students is a few days to the release of results of a major examination. It is a time that can be very stressful as students get worried about the results and feed on rumours about the results.
But, this period of stress can be better managed by students in a more objective and scientific way to the benefit of the student who is waiting for the exam result.

All students waiting for the WASSCE 2020 results must understand that it is a normal feeling to become anxious at this time when fake news is being released about the result and when WAEC has also indicated that it has finished marking scripts among others.
These are indications your results will be officially released soon.
The WASSCE 2020 results will impact the lives of students whether they pass or not. For those who pass the exams, it will serve as the springboard that migrates them to the next level of education at the tertiary level whiles for those who will fail, it will be a time to resit the papers and spend another one year or so stagnated at the remedial school whiles your colleagues take the lead. Just thinking about this can make you feel the pressure.
This result is so important that reminding yourself of it can make you uneasy with many questions running through your mind. However, whether you struggle or not with these waiting periods can also depend on your personality and your degree of resilience
This stressful time can make some students prepare and condition themselves mentally for the worse bad news.
Waiting for the results can be a stressful time and you may find yourself mentally preparing for bad news, even if you know – deep down – that this is unlikely to happen. So why do we do this?
Be mindful, that is to say, pay more attention to the present and less on the result which yet to be released.
Keep yourself busy with something useful and continue to assure yourself that it is going to be alright. This can help you deal with the worries.
Practice breathing exercises in times of stress as a result of the results you are thinking about is key. When your anxiety level goes up, taking deep breaths can magically help calm you down.
When thoughts about the results of the exams keep knocking your brain, it is time to tell yourself, you cannot in any way control the outcome however, you can deal with the reactions.
You can also take a walk if the pressure is just too much. Science has proven that when you are stressed, moving about can calm you down. You can give that a try. It works often.
Lastly, you can engage in sports, or hanging out with kids and have quality time at home. Keep your mind busy with something useful and you will deal with the situation.
