Nogokpo Chief Cautions Media, Public On Archbishop Agyin-Asare’s Comment
When it comes to Nogokpo and the Deity (Shrine), Dufia Torgbi Saba V of the Ketu South Municipality in the Volta area has asked that the media and the general public hold off from making any negative comments. Archbishop Charles Agyin-Asare, founder and head of the Perez Chapel, made a controversial remark during a sermon at the Accra, Ghana, auditorium of his church.
There was a lot of response to the Archbishop’s words from people who claimed to be from Nogokpo, but Torgbi Saba said that these people weren’t actually from Nogokpo.
A statement from the palace of Torgbi Saba V was seen by Newsghana.com on Friday, May 26. To let Ghanaians and the world know that we are deliberating on the issue and the general public shall hear from us in due course, GH said, “It has come to the notice of Torgbi Saba V, “Dufia of Nogokpo, the current happenings on social media about Archbishop Charles Agyin-Asare and Nogokpo.”Those in the media or the general public who read the statement and have questions about it will know who to contact for answers.
On the third day of a recent summit at the headquarters of Perez Chapel in Accra, Archbishop Charles Agyin-Asare talked about heavenly protection and the existence of evil spirits, using a variety of instances to illustrate his points.
The Archbishop mentioned the demonic attacks his team faced since they were holding a crusade in the Volta Region during the sermon.
While on this crusade in Aflao, our accommodation was located in Agbozume; to get there, you’ll need to pass through Nogokpo. And the Volta Region’s demons call Nogokpo their home base. While traveling from Aflao to Agbozume in Bishop Yaw Adu’s four-wheel drive, the tire came out from beneath the car as soon as they reached Nogokpo. “We haven’t said it, but the second night I made Bishop Yaw Adu talk about witchcraft, and we disgraced the witches and wizards,” he claimed.
After the video was posted online, the church leader received widespread backlash, much of it coming from accounts purportedly associated with the Nogokpo temple.
