Pay legacy arrears or we vote and campaign against you – COALITION OF AGGRIEVED TEACHERS
The coalition of aggrieved teachers fighting for the payment of legacy arrears owed teachers have in a petition indicated that, they will among other things vote against the government if it fails to settle outstanding arrears owed members.
According to them, if the legacy arrears is not paid, they will not only vote against the government in the upcoming general elections but will also campaign against it , embark on an industrial strike action when school resumes, and file legal suit against the government.

They have therefore called on government to take the necessary steps to avoid the above.
Below is the full petition
PETITION TO THE PRESIDENT ON NON-PAYMENT OF LEGACY ARREARS BY COALITION OF AGGRIEVED TEACHERS
The above coalition wishes to bring to the attention of the president, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo, that a large number of teachers have still not been paid their legacy arrears contrary to claims by the government that all arrears owed teachers have been paid.
We received with shock and surprise the announcement by the government that it had cleared all arrears owed teachers in the country when in reality that is not the case.
In this regard, we wish to bring to your attention our grievance to enable your good office address them as a matter of urgency. However, failure to address our concerns within a period of one month we would advise ourselves.
Legacy arrears threats from the coalition
The group had this to say”
We therefore wish to state emphatically that failure of government to honor this request will lead to the following:
1. Massive voting against the government in the up coming general elections.
2. Massive campaigning against the government
3. Embarking on industrial strike action when school resumes
4. Filing legal suit against the government.
In the light of the above, we hope our listening president will act accordingly.
Thank you.
