Teacher Absenteeism study to be conducted in Pre-Tertiary schools – NaSIA
The National Schools Inspectorate Authority (NaSIA), is scheduled to embark on a Teacher Absenteeism study across the country. The aim of the research would be to better understand the factors that contribute to Teacher Absenteeism in Ghana’s Pre-Tertiary level schools.
In addition to the above, the study is expected to help (NaSIA) explore the official duties performed by teachers during school hours, and the measures currently put in place to prevent absenteeism of teachers are working and the impact on learners.
The findings and data collected after the study would help the Ghana Education Service (GES)to formulate and implement interventions aimed at minimizing the rate of Absenteeism among teacher schools.
