WASSCE 2021 Massive Leakage: Africa Education Watch was right from the word go
Edulearnweb | September 16, 2021 | WASSCE 2021 Massive Leakage: Africa Education Watch was right from the word go.
The total denial of any form of leakage in the ongoing WASSCE 2021 from the word go was just a mere face-saving act by WAEC when Africa Education Watch hinted the Food and Nutrition paper 3 was leaked.
WAEC described the reports by (Eduwatch) as baseless and false when the think tank made public the suspected leakage of Food and Nutrition Paper 3.
Now the massive leakage in the WASSCE 2021 reported by WAEC only goes to vindicated, Africa Education Watch, the committed gatekeepers, and watchdog of our ongoing 2021 WASSCE assessment.
In 2020, they raise serious concerns regarding the impunity with which the papers were leaked, and even with hard-core evidence, WAEC did little about it. Their full report on the 2020 WASSCE compelled the West African Examination to come out of their shells and even threaten the sue the think tank.
In the build-up to the 2021 examination, they informed WAEC that they will be keeping an eagle’s eye on them. Probably, this has paid off because the failure of WAEC to come out would mean another series of reports from Africa Education Watch detailing the WASSCE 2021 massive leakage which has the potential to tarnish the image and reputation of WAEC.
The leakage of the WASSCE E-Maths, Business Management, and English Language papers is a testament that, African Education Watch was right way back in 2020. a year in which Ghana choked unprecedented success in the WASSCE which was attributed to the Free SHS and other government interventions.
However, with these leakages identified, papers rescheduled and others cancelled these results may not look good.
Government has in the last two examinations decided to supply past questions to students to help them prepare adequately instead of using the same resources to supply essential teaching and learning materials to resource schools and teachers to teach candidates and prepare them for the examinations.
The attempt by the government to solves the problems confronting secondary education via this approach may soon expose the weaknesses of their students and hence the 2021 WASSCE results to be obtained by candidates.

WAEC seems to have lost its voice to defend the indefensible now. Truth is like pregnancy, no matter how well you manage to defuse its existence, nature and kama will expose you.

Our national and international examinations are being compromised and we expect WAEC to apologize to the entire nation for failing to be proactive in halting the annual leakage of our examinations. Instead of fighting the (Eduwatch), it should rather see them as partners in ensuring the examinations are protected, the credibility of results protected, and the right things are done at the pre-exam, during, and post-examination points. Let us safeguard the WASSCE and BECE examinations and the credibility of WAEC. Swallow the pride, WAEC, and sit up.
