3 ways to report MTN Mobile Money (MoMo) fraud in Ghana
Nearly every adult in Ghana receives and sends money from their MTN Mobile Money wallet. This means you are at risk of being defrauded by MTN Mobile Money Fraudsters.
For this reason, it is not enough to have a secured password, but you also need to know How to report MTN Mobile Money (MoMo) fraud in Ghana.
This post seeks to help readers master the basic steps to take when reporting someone who attempted to defraud you or has defrauded you.
There are currently two quick and easy ways by which you can report MTN MOMO Fraudsters. This will help you overcome the tricks of fraudsters who want to have access to your Mobile Money wallets.
One way to protect your Momo wallet is to have a secured secrete MTN Momo Pin. This is one of the common ways by which you secure your e-wallet. Again, you can keep your account safe by not approving any transaction you have not initiated. Always cross-check before approving.
Now, what do you do if the fraudster is able to access your wallet, and succeed in withdrawing your money?
What if he or she tried but failed? In both scenarios, you need to lodge an official report with MTN.
How to report MTN Mobile Money (MoMo) fraud
There are three (3) ways of reporting an MTN Mobile Money (MoMo) fraud case.
Method 1: Mobile Money (MoMo) Service
- Kindly dial *170#
- Select option 6 (My Wallet)
- Select option 4 (Report Fraud)
- Now select the type of fraud case (Wrong Transfers, New Reversal Process, Fake SMS, Fake Blocking, Fake Promotions)
- Follow the prompt to input fraud details

Method 2: By Sending SMS
You can also report your fraud case by sending an SMS to a short 1515 by including fraud details.
Method 3: Call MTN Customer Care Centre

The third way of reporting unusual or fraudulent cases is by calling the MTN Customer Care Centre. Kindly call 100 to talk to a representative. The process you will go through before a representative answers your call may be time-consuming but it is worth the waiting and patience.
