Election Slap!! NPP Polling Agent Who Allegedly Received Slap During Kumawu By-Election Finally Speaks (VIDEO)
Dennis Amofa, the assistant secretary of the New Patriotic Party in Kwabre East, has spoken out about receiving a slap from Kwaku Duah and his girlfriend during the most recent Kumawu by-election. Dennis Amofa recounted his experience as a polling station coordinator at Kumawu Anglican Junior High School when he was falsely accused of bribing voters by the leading independent candidate. His job, he says, was to help voters at the center, but Kwaku Duah and his girlfriend attacked him on election day.
Dennis Amofa claimed on Wontumi TV that he was accused of distributing campaign funds by Kwaku Duah and his girlfriend after they had followed him to a nearby restroom. When Kwaku Duah’s girlfriend and her accomplice followed him to a male urinal, he was the first target of their intimidation.
Amofa said that in the restroom, Kwaku Duah yelled at him, “Young man, you are the one sharing money with voters,” and that his girlfriend chimed in, “They will slap me.” When he went to slap me, his watch flew off and smashed the screen of my phone. I informed my supervisors, and they directed me to the police. Everyone around me attested to what they saw “Kwaku Duah and his aide do to me, and I was eventually given a place to hide out.” Kwaku Duah, who finished third in the Kumawu by-election, allegedly slapped Amofa and then fled the scene.
“Many people asked me what I did after he slapped me, but I told them I was calm because they were three in number when they came to attack me, and I couldn’t have fought back,” she explains. The police have been informed of the situation.
