GES ‘deletes’ CSSPS portal to check secondary school placement
The Ghana Education Service (GES) following the impending release of the 2021 school placement has deleted one of the Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) portals to check the secondary school placement.
The CSSPS portal https://cssps.org last two years was added to the usual https://cssps.gov.gh to streamline the placement checking process but checks by EducationWeb indicates that the portal has been deleted completely.
The regular https://cssps.gov.gh however is currently online but under heavy maintenance to ensure no downtimes are recorded during the checking of the 2021 secondary school placement from next week.
It is currently unclear if the Ministry of Education (MoE) and Ghana Education Service (GES) responsible for the computer school placement are working on the website offline and will reactivate it later but for now, it is not online.
Meanwhile, the Minister for Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum has said his outfit has collaborated with Management of the Computerized School Selection and Placement System to ensure a smooth school placement this academic year.
In an interview monitored by EducationWeb, the Education Minister disclosed the bandwidth of the CSSPS portals has been increased to contain an immense amount of traffic when the school placement results are out in March 2022.
“We have put measures in place to ensure the websites experience no downtime when the school placements are out. The bandwidth of the portals have increased to contain a lot of traffic or visitors,” he told an Accra-based radio station.
The Director-General of the Ghana Education Service, Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa on his part this week told the Ghanaian Times newspaper the school placement next week will be released by the school placement system Management
In an interview with the Times newspaper, the Professor said the Education Service has already commenced the selection and placement process and from next week it will be released for students to check their school placement.
