Khan Academy’s New Constitution 101 Course: Coming Sept. 2024
Khan Academy and the National Constitution Center have teamed up to offer a free online course about the U.S. Constitution and how it shapes the lives of every citizen of the United States. This course will be available in September 2024.
In this course, students will explore the Constitution’s historical foundations, landmark Supreme Court cases, and contemporary constitutional issues pioneered by the Founders and diverse figures from across American history. This course is more than just a history lesson; it’s an exploration of the ideas and principles that have shaped our nation.
Educators can sign up to receive email updates about this course.
As students progress through the course, they’ll watch interviews with leading constitutional scholars, professors, and experts from diverse political philosophies, who explain how interpretations of the Constitution and its amendments have shaped the government of the present-day United States.
In addition to the articles and videos in this course, we are including a number of exercises and activities. These are designed to help students apply the concepts they’ve learned to the world around them. By putting their knowledge into practice, they will be able to understand the processes of government, the principles animating those processes, and how those processes affect the lives of Americans today.
The National Constitution Center is America’s leading platform for constitutional education and debate, delivering the best nonpartisan educational programs and online resources that engage all Americans in learning about the U.S. Constitution. You can access the National Constitution Center and Khan Academy’s first collaboration with this series of videos on the Constitution. And teachers can implement the high school curriculum in their classrooms now! Visit the National Constitution Center’s website for the teacher version of Constitution 101.
