Teacher suffers blackout, left in a pool of blood after SHS students assaulted him
News reaching the Ghanaeducation.org is that Ave SHS students have assaulted a teacher leaving him in a pool of blood. According to reports given by eyewitnesses, the teacher Mr. Innocent Agblorti suffered the assault while advising learners on the good behaviours expected of them during prep time.
The teacher who saw some students outside the classroom during prep hours approached them to find out why they were not learning as required at the time. Mr. Innocent Agblorti who was on duty decided to get closer to them when he realized those outside in the dark were both male and female students.
Upon getting closer, he turned his unwelcome visit into a time of counseling and enlightened the students on their academic prospects if they take the pieces of advice from him and other teachers. However, his advice was met with a negative reaction from the students who picked stones and threw them at him. The stones landed on the teacher’s head and back leading to him bleeding profusely from the head. He also suffered an instant blackout.
The Lead Educator and Founder of Informed Teachers Network, Akporhor Jerry Lead Educator in his release on the rebellious act condemn and called for an immediate investigation into the case and call the perpetrators to justice.
A release by the Informed Teachers Network, led by Akporhor Jerry Lead Educator condemned the act and called for an investigation to be conducted.
“We condemn this act of violence against a teacher who was only trying to ensure discipline and safety on the school premises. We demand immediate action from the school authorities, the Ghana Education Service, and the Ministry of Education to investigate the incident and bring the perpetrators to justice.”
“The safety and security of teachers and other school staff should be a top priority, and it is unacceptable that they are subjected to such violence and aggression. We call on the authorities to take swift action to ensure that this incident does not repeat itself in any other school in the country,” he added.
“We urge the police to investigate the case thoroughly and provide regular updates to the victim and the general public on the progress made towards dealing with the culprits responsible for this heinous act.”
“We stand with Mr. Innocent Agblorti and all other teachers who have been subjected to violence and abuse in their line of duty. We call on the authorities to take immediate action to ensure the safety and security of all teachers and school staff in the country.”
