The National Council For Curriculum And Assessment (NaCCA) Orders Withdrawal Of Controversial History Textbook Indicting Christianity
Excellence Publications’ textbook “History of Ghana for Basic Schools: Learners’ Book Four” is being recalled immediately at the request of the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA). Despite the publication of the book, the contents do not correspond to the NaCCA-approved curriculum, as was previously clarified. Some versions of the textbook being used in schools in Ghana and elsewhere falsely attribute poverty and violence to Christians and the Christian faith. Another assertion made in the textbook is that believers are less likely to seek out and implement concrete solutions to enhance their lives. Since then, NaCCA has contacted Excellence Publications via letter, demanding that they immediately stop selling the textbook. Excellence Publications’ “History of Ghana for Basic Schools—Learners’ Book Four” has received some negative press, and the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA) has taken notice. According to the Council’s usual practices, we were caught off guard when we received the aforementioned publication from the Excellence Series. This is because the media’s representation of the content does not accurately reflect what was approved by NaCCA.The Council emphasizes that the content in question does not meet NaCCA’s standards for acceptable programming. The Council requests that the public keep informing it of any potentially harmful products that may have originated in NaCCA.When publishers release content without following NaCCA’s guidelines, the organization will take swift and severe action. The general public is encouraged to get in touch with us at any time for advice on what to teach at our pre-university institutions. What do you also think about what the NaCCA said? Let us know what you think.

Isaac Yaw: Why are we running away from the truth? The church should start a new way of doing things to empower its members to be creative and hardworking and stop time-wasting. We waste time a lot. And time is also money, so they say.
