UWorld launches online learning tools for the UKMLA exam – TechToday
Uworld has launched test preparation resources for UK medical students who are required to take the newly introduced UK Medical Licensing Assessment (UKMLA), with the online tools designed to help students build effective study habits and improve test-taking endurance.
The new exam – which is a requirement for all medical students graduating in the academic year 2024-25 – assesses the fundamental knowledge, abilities and behaviours needed to practice safely as a doctor in the UK.
UWorld’s learning tools are aligned to the MLA Examination Blueprint and deliver over a thousand clinically relevant questions that have been developed by practicing doctors.
As well as a wide range of practice questions, there is also context-specific imagery to deepen students’ understanding of critical concepts. In addition, concise, detailed rationales describe the clinical reasoning behind correct and incorrect answers.
Chandra S Pemmasani, founder and CEO of UWorld, said: “We are thrilled to offer UK medical students and educators our award-winning tools to help them succeed on the UKMLA.
“The expansion to the UK market is a natural next step after supporting more than 90% of all US medical students in their preparation for the USMLE for more than 15 years.
“We are proud to offer content that is meticulously developed by subject matter experts, which underscores our commitment to providing resources of exceptional quality.”
The online tools and resources also include personalised performance reports so that students can recognise areas of weakness, and customisable flashcards, supporting them to focus on the right areas.
The digital content is also available for educators, who can customise the resources to supplement their medical curriculum. Formative or summative learning assignments can be built around the 1,500+ question bank.
Similarly, gradebook and reporting tools for educators deliver insights into classroom performance so that educators can easily identify knowledge gaps for early intervention and support.
Just a few months ago Health Education and Improvement Wales launched its simulation-based education and training strategy, designed to enhance current and future workforce skills using immersive technology.
