WARNING: Men Are Urinating Completely Wrong, According To Scientists; See Why
Even though it’s something most people do on a daily seems that guys have had their urination all wrong. New studies show that rather than standing, males should sit while they urinate. After the release of the YouGov survey on male urination habits, a prominent urologist declared that urinating while seated is more hygienic and healthier for bladders. The “most efficient way to pee,” according to Dr. Gerald Collins, a urological surgeon at the Alexandra Hospital in Cheshire, who spoke with The Telegraph. One reason for this is that sitting causes the pelvis and spine to relax, making urination simpler.
When asked about sneaking off the course, Collins responded, “The bottom line is, if you’re on a golf course and you need to nip behind a tree, you can get away with that.” “Whereas if you squat down and pull your pants down, that could be a much more embarrassing situation.” And “sitting is probably the most efficient way of doing it,” he said.
Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), often known as an enlarged prostate, is more common in older men, suggesting that this treatment may be of particular benefit to this demographic.
Specifically, “BPH occurs due to a change in the hormonal environment within the prostate, primarily from the early 40s onwards,” as stated by Collins. An elevated level of a testosterone breakdown product promotes prostate cell growth and enlargement. Men begin to realize that they are better able to urinate while seated. While urinating in a seated position is less prevalent than in a standing position, it is becoming increasingly common. More than 7,000 men from 13 nations participated in the study which yielded new information. German men, more than any other nationality, report the highest frequency of “always” using a seated urinal (40%).
