Young Student Brutally Killed With A Spade After Crossing A Dangerous Gang Member
Trayton Januarie, a 15-year-old student was killed in a sad tragedy near Elsies River. Trayton was reportedly hit with a spade by a gang of men who confronted him on Gladstone Street as he was returning home from visiting his grandmother. Glass had been thrown during a previous argument between Trayton’s relative and another boy. After making a threatening statement, the boy who was hit with the glass collected a group of people who were equipped with pangas and spades. To confront Trayton, they drove up in a car. Trayton’s mother got a call and ran to her mother’s house, which witnesses said was a frightening scene. Trayton appeared to have been stabbed and was lying on the ground. A few seconds later, he received a shovel blow to the skull. Tracey Januarie-Herwels, Trayton’s mom, was sitting on the couch watching television when she got the call. When she arrived at her mother’s house, she discovered Trayton surrounded by worried relatives and friends. She comforted him by telling him he needed to get up and that she would drive him to the hospital. His condition quickly deteriorated, however, as soon as they laid him down. Elsies River Day Hospital was called to the scene, but it was too late for Trayton.
The police have assured Trayton’s mother that they will launch a murder investigation into her son’s death. Trayton’s funeral is putting a financial strain on his parents, who are currently unemployed. They are appealing to the public for donations to cover funeral costs.

Godfrey: Haino man What is our country doing to our kids who are losing their lives at such a young age? It’s breaking, and reading news about our young people is hurtful. May this young person rest in peace? My heartfelt condolences to the family.
Karen: Parents watch crime shows, and these kids watch along with them. In my day. If such a shoe even existed, we wouldn’t be allowed to watch graphic things the way these kids do. It might not be just our country. These kids become so desensitized to horror and violence at a young age.
Pulse: Condolences to the family. I have noticed that most video games are easily accessible from a cellphone, and the gaming activity is violent. All gaming and cartoon-based television where this sort of violent behavior is expressed as a form of entertainment must be banned in its entirety. You can’t expect anyone to get up and walk after sustaining such beatings to the head with a shovel. Where access to these media, streaming, and downloading should be prohibited, the government should step in. This is indeed very tragic to read.
