2022 WASSCE malpractice investigations begin: Punishments that offenders will face
The 2022 WASSCE malpractice cases probe by WAEC begins in an effort to complete investigations ahead of the release of results on 30th November 2022. In a WAEC press release sighted by EdulLearnWeb, WAEC indicated that it was starting full investigations into 2022 WASSCE malpractice cases that were detected during the conduct of the 2022 Ghana-only examination.
The outcome of the investigations will determine which results WAEC will cancel fully, those that will be cancelled on a subject basis, and candidates who will be prevented from taking any WAEC-organized examinations in the next two years.

The Punishments that offenders will face based on the final decisions of WAEC on 2022 WASSCE malpractice investigations are many.
The Council has therefore called on school managers and candidates who had issues of malpractice levelled against them to avail themselves of the full-scale investigation.
#1. Where a candidate fails, or the school fails to turn up for the investigation, WAEC will take a unilateral decision and apply its sanctions accordingly.
“Candidates are informed that their refusal to honour such invitations shall not preclude the Council from making a final determination on the cases in question.” The statement indicated.
“The Council is urging school authorities and candidates who have been invited to its Offices to assist with investigations into suspected malpractice cases to honour the invitations to facilitate the speedy resolution,” it stated.
#2. Where the individual alleged to have contributed to the compromising of the examination rules is a teacher of the GES, he or she will be reported to the management of the Ghana Education Service. The GES will take a final decision on such educators, who may also be jailed if found guilty by a competent court with jurisdiction in such matters.
#3. Schools found guilty of engaging in illegalities and are currently examination centres are most likely to lose that right and the centre may be moved to another school.
