PRINCOF postpones 2021/22 Colleges of Education reopening date
The Principals of College of Education (PRINCOF) has reportedly postponed the 2021/2022 Colleges of Education reopening date for continuing students, a source close to the Principals told EducationWeb.com.gh on Monday.
According to the source, continuing students of the various public teacher training institutions will not report to their campuses on November 7, 2021, as earlier communicated but on January 2022 when the next academic year begins.
The postponement of the November 7, 2021 reopening date comes after PRINCOF directed Management of the 46 public Colleges of Education (CoE) to suspend the release of the 2021/2022 admission list until further notice.
The reason for the delay in the release of the Colleges of Education admission list which was supposed to be released on Sunday, October 31, 2021, is yet to be communicated to the members of the general public and students.
“PRINCOF directs all Colleges of Education to put the publication of their admission list on hold until further notice. It is yet to be known the reason behind the hold-up,” the source stated in a post sighted by EducationWeb.com.gh.
Meanwhile, the Minister for Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum has urged the Management of the Colleges of Education to ensure that fresh students admission does not exceed numbers that were admitted in the 2019/2020 academic year.
