University Fees: UDS academic fees reduced by 16% amid COVID-19
UDS academic fees reduced by 16% amid COVID-19 after the SRC called on the leadership and management of the school to help alleviate the financial burden of students.
University fees continue to see gradual reduction across the world, and so the University of Development Studies (UDS) has also slashed its school fee down by 16%.
The academic fees of both continuing students and freshmen/ students for the 2020/2021 academic year have seen a 16% reduction according to the UDS Students Representative Council (SRC).
In a communique by the Central UDS Students Representative Council’s President, Christopher Otoo , Edulearnweb learned that the reduction is aimed at reducing the financial burden of students, parents, and other indirect customers of the school who pay the fees of students of the institution.
An excerpt of the communiqué reads “by this communiqué, without any display of ostentation, mention must be made that successfully, the interest of respected colleagues have been drummed collectively by leadership, and management without resentment has listened to our plea”
Prior to the 16% reduction in the fees, the SRC petitioned the leadership of UDS school and called for them to consider the current COVID-19 situation and its negative impact on the incomes of those who will be paying fees for their wards. This suggestion was what led to the final decision to cut down the cost by 16%.
The SRC announcing the reduction said “Appropriately the fee for the 2020/2021 academic year has been reduced by 16%. This became necessary because of the emergence of COVID-19 how it affected and continue to affect the economy.
