Watch Video: Archbishop Agyinasare Clashes With Nogokpo Deity Over “Demonic Allegation”
The founder of Perez Chapel, who witnessed a near tragedy, referred to Nogokpo township as the “demonic headquarters” of the Volta Region.
Archbishop Charles Agyinasare, the founder of Perez Chapel International, has been warned by the Nogokpo shrine in Ketu South town in the Volta Region not to speak ill of the deity. After a recent crusade in Aflao, Agyinasare delivered a sermon in which he recalled an experience and referred to Nogokpo as the “demonic headquarters” of the region. “During this crusade in Aflao, we slept at Agbozume, and you had to go through Nogokpo, and it’s the demonic headquarters in the Volta Region; we only have not said it,” Agyinasare remarked.
Agyinasare continued, “But the second night, I made Bishop Yaw Adu talk about witchcraft, and we disgraced the witches and wizards. When we were driving from Aflao to Agbozume, immediately we got to Nogokpo, and Bishop Adu’s tire came out of his four-wheel drive (car).”
In response, the shrine claimed that some pastors of Perez Chapel International get their “church business” powers from the community.
The letter, addressed to Archbishop Charles Agyinasare, says: “Dear Archbishop Charles Agyinasare, our religion does not accept lies, fake prophecies, defrauding people under pretense, extorting monies from people in the name of taking them to “heaven,” which does not exist, taking taxpayers’ and innocent citizens’ money to build worthy homes, bury things, or make sacrifices to get more members.
Instead of criticizing others, we suggest you work on educating your followers about your faith. Whoever sounds the war drum must be prepared to dance. Your pastors go to the same demonic headquarters to gain more members and abilities for your “church business.” If you don’t know what to preach, you should probably shut down your church and come learn about our faith. Freedom of religion and worship has existed for some time now. We shall never speak poorly of another’s faith since we respect all religions equally.
