Fans Of Bawumia Sends Stong Warning To NPP If They Don’t Make Bawumia Flag Bearer
A youth organization called Friends of Bawumia (FOB) in the Chiana-Paga constituency of the Upper East Region has vowed to abandon the NPP if Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is not chosen as the party’s flagbearer in the 2024 elections. The 600-strong organization is convinced that the Vice President is the best hope for realizing the party’s “break the eight-year” motto.
“Our correspondent spoke with the group’s head, Desmond Abire Ayambire, who said that some of the members were constituency executives and had done substantial work to realize that Dr. Bawumia was the only person who could help the party win the next 2024 elections. We are not implying that the other candidates cannot serve as party representatives; rather, we believe that Dr. Bawumia is the most qualified to guide us to victory. Most of us are top-level executives, and we are standing up to say it because we have done our research and come to the conclusion that he is the best candidate for the party.”
Mr. Ayambire, who is also the constituency chairman, continued by saying, “Yeah, it is not a secret because if the party fails or whatever and Dr. Bawumia is not elected flagbearer, some of us would leave the party. We are the first to leave NPP, and our membership numbers are already above 600. The party should thus allow Dr. Bawumia to serve as our presidential candidate in the 2024 election, as this would be in everyone’s best interests.” To further the party’s goals, the organization solicited support from the general public and, in particular, the young in the area.
Ghanaians comment bitterly on social media.
Nelson: You don’t want the democratic process to determine who becomes your flag bearer? What at all is this? So others should also come out and issue threats that if you don’t make A, B, or C the flag bearer, we will leave the party. What pedestrian behavior is that?
Isaac said, “Criminals, by force, we should allow you people to come and continue the stealing.” Very sad. Just look at how Dr. Bawumia wants to deceive Ghanaians. He is a quiet and humble man, but influencing people with this evil behavior shows that a leader with this character can never become president again.
Fosu: After taking Ghana into this economic mess, you want us to bring Bawumia in so that the NDC will have a smooth run to victory. Stop that hypocrisy; it’s Alan all the way. He’s the person who can break the eight. Today, Bawumia is called a liar everywhere and has no credibility whatsoever.
Kyei: First and foremost, BAWUMIA doesn’t like NPP, which is why he even refused to get a party card after President Kuffour gave him an appointment in 2006. He only got a card after being offered the VP position, and he was brought in specifically because of the economy, and what do we see? Secondly, Dombo should indeed have been an NPP member from day one. So my point is that such a person cannot just come in as VP and a flag bearer for the NPP party. when he didn’t find the party attractive enough to be a member from day one. Then what happens to long service and the same ideology as being a member of the NPP? Simply put, he is Akufo-Addo’s man and not a DOMBO, as they want us to believe. because true DOMBOs are card-bearing members of the NPP and not someone who came in as VP.
Leave a: The NPP tradition was established on democracy. Threats are not part of this dispensation. Since the formation of the NPP, we have had many congresses choose leaders, and those who lose do not break away. If indeed you are a true member born into this tradition, if your candidate loses, you don’t quit. Alhaj Aliu Mahama lost but still stayed true to the party until his passing. Alhaj Malik Yakubu lost to Kuffuor in 1998 and did not quit. Please note that treats will not make delegates decide. If one is a true NPP traditionalist, we all support the winner.
