US Embassy Pre-Tertiary Teachers Virtual Learning Program For Ghana-Apply Here
The US Embassy in Ghana is organizing a Pre-Tertiary Teaching Methodologies Virtual Learning Session for Primary/JHS/SHS teachers in Ghana.
If your dream is to learn more about teaching methodologies such as creating learner-centered activities and integrating STEM concepts into lessons. Then this should be of interest to you for your professional development.
The Virtual Learning Program will connect participants with US-based teaching experts.
The program starts on 10 August. All applications are due by 5:00 pm on Friday, 31 July for review and selection.
According to the publication inviting interested applicants, the US Embassy said:
The purpose of the Virtual Learning Program is to provide opportunities for online professional development to teachers working in Ghana. Goals of this virtual program include: By the end of this three (3)-week program, participants will have increased familiarity with using Google Classroom, will have increased skills in common content areas such as managing large class sizes, learner-centered activities, and integrating STEM concepts into lessons, and will have increased opportunities to share their own best practices with a community of educators.

We will use the submitted responses to select participants for two (2) cohorts, each with approximately twenty (20) Ghana-based teachers. We anticipate being in touch with all applicants regarding the status of your application by 05 August.
Each of the two (2) cohorts will engage with a US-based teaching expert and with each other for a professional development course of three (3) weeks’ duration. For each of the three (3) weeks, participants will be online “live” with the instructor for approximately two (2) hours, in addition to approximately two (2) hours of assignments and “offline” work.
The total estimated time commitment for this program is twelve (12) hours. Participants who attend at least five (5) of the six (6) sessions will receive a certificate.
