WAEC to monitor 2021 BECE with hidden cameras & disguised Invigilators
WAEC to monitor 2021 BECE with hidden cameras & disguised Invigilators?
Unconfirmed reports which are heartwarming indicate that WAEC and some CSOs have planted undercover officers to monitor exam malpractice at all centres and Examination halls.
The West African Examination Council (WAEC) will administer the 2021 BECE to over 500,000 candidates nationwide and will at the same time aim at preventing, foiling any attempts by unscrupulous individuals to discredit the examination through all forms of examination malpractice including leakages.
This move by WAEC is worth it and if implemented at certain stages and locations would help. This would be driven by the use of technology and persons who cannot be compromised.
Planting secret cameras and others gadgets at all centres and on individuals who are also invigilators can help achieve this but does WAEC have the needed equipment and the will to implement this in 2021?
Whether it can or cannot is not the key issue instead all 2021 BECE candidates, invigilators and supervisors who have the intention to cheat or assist others to cheat must know that it would end in futility.
EduLearnWeb further calls on Africa Education Watch to continue its good works of checking and putting the WAEC and GES on their toes.

Our security officers at post must be vigilant and uncompromised if we are to safeguard the 2021 BECE, the dwindling respect of WAEC and the credibility of its examinations.
The message sent reads:
Good evening colleagues
WAEC and some CSOs have planted undercover guys to monitor exam malpractice. They planted cameras and other gadgets at all centres and on individuals who are also invigilators. Please be careful during this year’s BECE especially those of you invigilating.Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
